Independent publisher Broadsheet Media has launched its new Home & Lifestyle vertical in response to its audience’s growing desire to elevate their home style and home life.

As part of the launch, Broadsheet will be working with furniture retailer King, property developer Time & Place, and household technology brand Dyson, as category-exclusive foundation partners of Home & Lifestyle.

The majority of Broadsheet readers are homeowners and in a recent survey, Gen Y readers said they like their home to reflect their style and personality, and one in three Gen Xers are planning works on their homes in the next 12 months. One of the top things the Broadsheet audience wanted to see and read more about was home and living content.

Home & Lifestyle editorial covers advice and inspiration from Australia’s most sought-after and fascinating designers, stylists, creators, and interior tastemakers. It features interior design expertise, showcasing some of the country’s most unique residential spaces and high-utility stories that help you easily enhance your living space, redesign, or refresh your home.

Broadsheet editorial director Katya Wachtel said: “Broadsheet exists to showcase the best of Australian cities and the creative talent that drives them, and from the very beginning, that’s included Australia’s best designers and the spaces, products, and objects they bring to life. So, it’s incredibly exciting to launch a dedicated Home and Lifestyle vertical, which will give our readers access to the most sought-after designers, the latest news on all things home design, and our usual mix of highly curated, high-utility recommendations.

“Our new Home & Lifestyle editor, Jo Walker, knows design and lifestyle better than most and will make the vertical a destination and resource that’s useful but inspirational, with the biggest names in Australian home design, style and technology, alongside the most exciting up-and-comers.”

Jo Walker has spent more than 20 years writing, editing and producing content. She was editor of Frankie Magazine for nine years, where she took the title from niche publication to mainstream success. She then moved into the position of editor-in-chief, where she directed editorial on digital and traditional channels across Frankie’s brands: Frankie Magazine, Frankie books, Smith Journal, and Slow Living.

Walker said: “I’m so excited to help launch the new Home and Lifestyle section. Broadsheet has always been brilliant at sharing how to get the most out of the cities we live in. Now we’re turning that focus to the homes we live in as well. I can promise plenty of inspiration for happy, comfortable, smart and stylish living. I have a feeling there will be lots of green leafy things, too.”

Broadsheet Media was founded in 2009 by Nick Shelton. It covers Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, New Zealand and beyond, and every month, more than 2.1 million people visit broadsheet.com.au.
