Host appoints Droga5’s Gary Clarke as creative services manager

Host has appointed Droga5’s Gary Clarke to head up the agency’s creative services, supporting joint ECDs Bob Mackintosh and Julian Watt.

Clarke joins from Droga5 where he had led the creative traffic department since 2010. Prior to Droga5, he had spent three years as head of creative services at Leo Burnett Sydney.

In a statement Clarke said: “Host has long been regarded as one of Australia’s most innovative creative agencies and it was an opportunity I felt I had to grab with both hands.”

The appointment follows on from the agency appointing Watt as ECD as Host moved to build on its creative in-house skills, having previously relied on external partners.

Host’s other ECD Bob Mackintosh said in a statement: “As our department grows, we wanted an experienced creative services manager to help us create the right working environment to enable our teams to do their best work without distractions. Gary’s worked at many of the best agencies in town and joins us with impeccable credentials.”

Host recently picked up the NBN Co account and the creative account for V8 Supercars with other clients include Air New Zealand, Bankwest, Lego Australia and Tourism WA.
