How can you go for mimosas with the girls if you’re not vaccinated yet?

With reports circulating that US vaccination rates fell-off a cliff during July, health officials in Baltimore, Maryland have changed tact with their vaccine messaging.

A new campaign by Baltimore City Health presents a series of hilarious scenarios, mostly featuring loved ones questioning each other’s plans not to get vaccinated.

Scenarios presumably familiar to Americans, and possibly Australians, are presented. “Mimosas with the girls? You still aren’t vaxxed Debra!” one exacerbated husband says.

The campaign also takes aim at those who think they might have a chance at avoiding COVID via home remedies like ginger ale and green tea.

‘Ginger ale can’t cure COVID, Derrick! Your grandma is right, ginger ale does help settle an upset stomach. But it’s no substitute for getting vaxxed,” exclaims another irate partner.

Yeah, Derrick! Listen to your better half!

While the efficacy of the campaign may yet prove not to be at the same levels as several very effective COVID vaccines including those available in Australia, Pfizer and AstraZeneca, Dr Mumbo nonetheless applauds the out-of-the-box thinking that has turned the campaign into a viral phenomenon.
