HR platform KeyPay retires brand name, becomes Employment Hero

HR platform KeyPay has rebranded to Employment Hero, following its acquisition by the company in December 2021.

The announcement:

HR, payroll, and employee engagement platform Employment Hero today announced its intention to launch a master brand across its B2B product suite. This means the retirement of the KeyPay brand, with Employment Hero taking over for its outsourced payroll and SME payroll customers.

Employment Hero acquired KeyPay, a workforce management and payroll solution, in December 2021. The company has since followed through on its pledge to invest in KeyPay to grow its team. Integrating KeyPay, maintaining efficiency, and providing the best output for its partners and customers has helped Employment Hero execute its vision to become a leading employment and payroll provider.

Throughout this process, Employment Hero has undertaken a thorough evaluation with the executive leadership, marketing, and product teams. The decision to retire the KeyPay brand was made after considering the commercials of multiple brands in the market against the company’s business objectives.

Employment Hero will now be better positioned to launch its exciting new employment superapp Swag, to help hundreds of thousands of SMEs rewrite the playbook on finding, attracting, and retaining staff in Australia’s volatile job market. Under a unified banner, Employment Hero will also be better able to address HR-related topics, including changes to flexible working and generally focus on partner benefits through payroll and beyond.

The KeyPay brand was officially retired on March 6th, when the Employment Hero master brand was soft-launched for its outsourced payroll and SME payroll customers. KeyPay partners and customers can rest assured that the payroll product will continue to remain as strong as ever but now with the increased support and global recognition of the Employment Hero brand behind it.

The company is also excited to introduce KeyPay partners to the Employment Hero Partner Network, which saves companies from building their own time-consuming and costly payroll solutions. Through payroll technology integration and white-labelling, the Employment Hero Partner Network enables partners to improve customer experience and retention whilst remaining compliant and streamlining payroll across multiple countries.

KeyPay was publicly released in July 2012 as software for Australian users, but it soon expanded into New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Singapore, and Malaysia. The company grew from a team of just seven employees to a peak of over 100. In January 2013, there were 1,911 employees paid by KeyPay users. By July 2022, more than 2.5 million employees were paid.

Tasman Page, marketing director at Employment Hero, said: “Since Employment Hero welcomed KeyPay into the tent, our shared goal has been the same – to work efficiently together as a business and ultimately provide the best output for our partners and customers. To that end, we have been carefully considering the commercials of having multiple brands in the market and what impact that would have on our strategic business objectives. The decision to move forward with the Employment Hero brand for our payroll product is an opportunity to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of KeyPay and its ongoing impact on the Employment Hero story.”
