Huckleberry Agency appoints Carmela Soares as creative director

Huckleberry, Dentsu Aegis Network’s full service digital creative and media agency,  has appointed Carmela Soares as creative director.

The announcement:

Huckleberry, Dentsu Aegis Network’s full service digital creative and media agency, has bolstered its creative credentials with the appointment of Carmela Soares as Creative Director.

Carmela joins Huckleberry with an internationally recognised body of work developed over 17 years of experience in online, offline and integrated communications. She has worked in South America, Europe and Australia, in a number of well-known agencies such as Ogilvy, DDB, JWT and Havas. She joins Huckleberry from HotHouse.

Melissa Roberts, Huckleberry’s Managing Director said, “Carmela has a great reputation, an enviable folio of work and extensive experience in full service agencies. We will benefit from her creative direction but also from her understanding of the full service model and how we can bring that to life for the benefit of our clients here at Huckleberry.”

Carmela said, “I see a great opportunity to continue to integrate the offer and produce campaigns that will make a difference to our client’s businesses at Huckleberry.”

“The advertising industry is becoming increasingly fragmented, with multiple agencies working with the same client. What’s exciting about Huckleberry is seeing one team working together in concert with media, a focussed and efficient approach that’s less stressful for clients. It just makes sense.”

Carmela has won more than 80 awards including four Cannes Lions and several accolades in festivals like NY Festival, One Show, D&AD, LIAA, Caples, among others. Her work has also been featured in industry publications such as Contagious Magazine, Creativity Online, Directory, PSFK and many others.

Carmela is based in Melbourne.
