Huckleberry, Dentsu Aegis Network’s full-service agency has bolstered its senior team with two key hires, appointing Toby Somerville to the role of Technical Director, and Giacomo Groff as Strategy Director.

An expert at performance engineering with a keen eye for usability, Toby joins Huckleberry having worked with agencies such as Tribal DDB, Citrus, Atomic Media and PWC Stamford Interactive. He has worked on major clients such as ANZ, Coles, Medibank and Oxfam Australia.

Toby will enhance Huckleberry’s capabilities in the web development and app development space, enabling them to continue to provide innovative and relevant solutions to their clients.

Giacomo has moved to Huckleberry from Brazil, where he worked most recently with M&C Saatchi as Associate Director of Strategy & Technology. He has also previously held strategy roles at Ogilvy & Mather, Ogilvy One and Ambulance, an agency which he co-founded.

Past clients of Giacomo’s include IBM, Unilever and Pernod Ricard and his background of working in full-service agencies will perfectly complement Huckleberry’s structure.

Melissa Roberts, Huckleberry’s Managing Director said, “We are happy to be able to further strengthen our leadership team with the appointment of Toby and Giacomo. These are important hires for our business as we continue to grow and further tailor our offer to cater for our clients’ increasingly sophisticated needs.”

“Giacomo’s full-service and digital background will positively impact our delivery on bought, earned and owned channels and Toby’s appointment allows us to upscale our technology deliverables and he balances the need for great leadership with excellent technical background.”

The appointments come on the back of a number of new client wins for Huckleberry including Kids Under Cover, Funtastic, Two Scoops and Carman’s.
