ID Collective appoints head of communications

Comms agency ID Collective has named Alexandra Rutman as its official head of communications — a newly established role for the company.

The job will see Rutman spearhead the agency’s communications strategy. ID Collective says the appointment will boost “in-house production capabilities”.

Prior to ID, Rutman worked as head of PR and partnerships at hotel brand provider, JKLP Group. She joined the company in July 2020 as a senior public relations manager and held the role for more than four years before stepping into the head of PR position.

Rutman’s career has also seen her work several managerial stints at communications agency 3 Degrees Marketing; digital fashion retailer, Net-A-Porter; travel guide provider, Luxe City Guides; and travel club, Mr & Mrs Smith. She’s also worked on major events, such as the 2018 and 2019 Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix and the Australian Open.

“As we continue to scale, it’s essential that we invest in the right talent to drive our next phase of growth,” ID Collective’s executive director, Amanda Booth, said in a media release shared on Friday morning.

Rutman joins the business months after news broke that ID Collective will merge with digital, media and creative agency Noisy Beast Group.

Noisy Beast’s managing director, David Brown, commented on Rutman’s hiring saying that her leadership will help deliver impactful campaigns.

“Since our merger with iD Collective, we’ve experienced remarkable expansion, driven by our symbiotic model that integrates creative, content production, media amplification, and social strategy,” Brown said in the aforementioned release.

Rutman will work across the agency’s Melbourne and Sydney offices.
