The announcement:

IGA today announces its sponsorship of Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight, held in Melbourne this Christmas Eve. IGA is supporting the annual Christmas concert and fundraiser as the official Christmas Partner.

With 1,400 stores across Australia, IGA retailers play an incredibly important role in their local communities, which is why they have come on board as Carols by Candlelight sponsors. IGA is excited to be part of bringing together the community at a very special time of the year.

Vision Australia’s CEO Ron Hooton said, “We’re delighted to be partnering with IGA as our special Christmas partner for Carols by Candlelight this year. From big moments to small milestones, Vision Australia has provided over 150 years of support, services and the right tools to help people who are blind or have low vision to live the life they choose. IGA is one of those great iconic Australian brands that is truly passionate about making a difference. Giving back to the community is something they have done for many decades and it’s because of these shared values that we’re thrilled they’re on board as our partner for Carols by Candlelight this year.”

Tony Ingpen, owner of IGA Mt Evelyn and Deputy Chair of the Victorian IGA Board, says IGA is thrilled to be part of an incredible event that brings so much joy to the local community and supports such an important cause.

“This annual iconic event is such an exciting time for people to get together and enjoy each other’s company. IGA is at the heart of communities across the country, and this is just one of the many ways we’re helping build up and connect people in our local communities.

“We’re also passionate about giving back to those in need, no matter the circumstances, which is why we’re thrilled to be involved in an event which gives back to Vision Australia, a charity that is extremely close to my heart. My father was legally blind for the last 15 years of his life and Vision Australia played an important role in helping him to lead a normal fulfilling life”, Mr Ingpen added.
