The announcement:

Australia’s fastest-growing travel company, Ignite Travel Group (ITG) has launched its leading My Queensland brand with exclusive holiday deals tailored specifically for the New Zealand market.

The Queensland Holiday Experts will offer New Zealand a vast selection of experience-rich holidays that target the best of Queensland, perfectly packaged with flights and exclusive bonus value inclusions that customers can’t get anywhere else. My Queensland’s signature bonuses include room upgrades, resort credits, dining, local experiences and so much more. Committed to delivering the perfect Queensland holiday, My Queensland has created a dedicated Sales & Service New Zealand team who are experienced Queensland holiday experts.

My Queensland will launch with a series of fully-bundled packages including return flights flying Air New Zealand, as well as a selection of land-only packages that allow New Zealanders to use existing air credits. These unique and exclusive holidays will focus on the four main direct entry points of Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Cairns, with additional packages to the Whitsundays, Outback Queensland, Fraser Island and Magnetic Island. Catering for those that want the ‘shop and flop’ Queensland experience, My Queensland has packaged Brisbane with Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast stays. In addition to these resort getaways, New Zealanders can explore more of Queensland with a Tour Adventure, including rail journeys aboard the iconic Spirit of Queensland and escorted tours of Outback Queensland and Fraser Island. Also on offer are a selection of cruise holidays, including a 10-night fly, stay and cruise holiday with Royal Caribbean showcasing the best of Queensland from Brisbane to Cairns.

ITG has partnered with Tourism and Events Queensland to launch into the New Zealand market to support Queensland’s international recovery. Pre-COVID, New Zealand was the second-largest market in Queensland welcoming over 1.3 million New Zealand visitors in 2019

ITG chief executive officer Ryan Thomas said the company were thrilled to partner with Tourism and Events Queensland to expand its successful My Queensland brand with an all-new range of handcrafted holidays designed exclusively for New Zealand travellers.

“We’re incredibly excited to deliver a new range of Queensland holiday experiences to New Zealand. Curated by our very own Queensland Experts, our collection of exclusive Queensland holiday packages leave nothing to chance, ensuring My Queensland travellers not only secure exclusive access to incredible deals but also embark on a holiday where everything is taken care of,” Mr Thomas said.

Queensland Tourism Minister Stirling Hinchliffe said there had never been a better time for New Zealanders to visit Queensland.

“As temperatures start to cool in New Zealand, we know there’s pent-up demand for a spot in the warm Queensland sun,” Mr Hinchliffe said.

“Ignite Travel Group’s My Queensland has put together a terrific itinerary of warm Queensland holiday getaways to bring New Zealanders out of the cold and across the ditch. With competitive deals on world-class visitor experiences, Queensland is the place to be this winter.”

Established in 2005, ITG is Australia’s largest promoter of Queensland holidays, sending over 500,000 passengers to the Sunshine State. Recognised and celebrated by both industry and Australian consumers as the trailblazers of the travel industry, the multiple award-winning company was crowned ‘Disruptor of the Year’ 2019 at the Australian Mumbrella Travel Marketing Awards. In September 2019, ITG was acquired by Flight Centre Travel Group. ITG currently employs over 200 staff globally.
