The appointment comes six months after the agency hired Chris James as executive creative director, who Reid will report in to.
Reid joins Imagination after spending 9 years as owner and executive creative director of experiential agency Iconpath.
Previously, he has worked at David Atkins Enterprises as an associate artistic director and producer during the 2011 Rugby World Cup, and as a creative director at George P. Johnson.
Reid has worked with brands including Salesforce, Google, Youtube, Sea Life, Cartoon Network, Madame Tussauds, Lexus and Mercedes-Benz.
Reid said of his appointment: “I’m beyond excited to join the team where I hope to take my obsession with creating memorable customer journeys to the next level by leveraging Imagination’s world-class technological platforms, production expertise and international reach.”
James added: “We’re pretty excited about Mike joining the Melbourne team. Mike is not only an outstanding and experienced creative, but also a very commercially minded one. He’s the perfect person to drive the creative offering of our Melbourne office.”
