Impact investment firm Leapfrog appoints Milk & Honey PR

Six months after the agency established a Sydney presence, Milk & Honey PR has been appointed by impact investment firm Leapfrog Investments.

Leapfrog invests in 24 purpose-driven business across Asia and Africa, and recently went through a record-breaking US$743m funding round. The businesses at the receiving end of Leapfrog’s investments have reached more than 200m low income people, and provide health and wealth services.

Leapfrog said it needed an agency to amplify that “profit with purpose” story and reach global target audiences. Milk & Honey will collaborate with the company’s communications team to develop a strategy, and takes charge of Leapfrog’s external communications, including international media relations and social media.

“We were looking for a partnership, not just a service provider,” said Leapfrog’s global communications lead, Tim Middlemiss.

“In our search, Milk & Honey stood out not only for their energy and experience, but for their commitment to fully immersing themselves in our world. And, as a B-Corp, they have demonstrated that they share our vision for purpose-driven business.

“In Milk and Honey, we have found a group of collaborative people that will take the time to understand us, and work with us from ideation to implementation. I’m excited to see what our new partnership is able to deliver.”

Milk & Honey was founded in 2017 by Kirsty Leighton. Based in London, it expanded to Australia late last year, and made its first senior Australian hire in March. Managing director Caroline Addy, who is based in the UK but has previously worked at agencies in Sydney, said Milk & Honey was excited to help Leapfrog achieve its goal of providing health and wealth services to 1bn low-income people by 2030.

“Celebrating our first six months in Sydney alongside a global industry leader like LeapFrog is phenomenal,” Addy said.

“The fact that they share so many of our values makes it all the more meaningful; showing how like-minded companies naturally coalesce. We’ve been inspired by the people behind the brand in such a short space of time already. It’s so rare that you get the chance to be part of something that has the power to change lives at scale. We can’t wait to start telling LeapFrog’s extraordinary stories to a global audience.”
