VCCP promotes Josh Manning to planning director

VCCP has promoted senior planner Josh Manning to planning director. He will continue to work with Compare the Market, Torrens University Australia, and automotive brand LDV – which appointed the agency in April – but take on the added remit of new business growth.

Manning started at the agency in August last year, joining after doing freelance work for Mercer Bell and We Are Social and spending two years at Marcel as a strategic planner.

Manning has been with the agency for just under a year

“It’s been great having Josh on board and to see how quickly he’s embraced the VCCP challenger ethos,” said executive planning director Kim Feitelberg.

“He’s such a student of strategy, of human behaviour and of culture, and that has been really evident in the way he has contributed to both existing clients and new business.”

At Marcel, Manning worked on the Tiger Beer, Tinder and Rio Tinto accounts, and also had stints at TKT Sydney, and Clemenger BBDO. He said he feels “genuinely lucky to have landed at VCCP”.

“Across the whole network there is a very strong, smart planning culture and a lot of great minds to tap into,” Manning said.

“Here in Sydney, there’s a smart bunch of people who are working hard to replicate the kind of success the agency has had overseas, and I’m looking forward to contributing to that and continuing to help the agency grow.”

Last September, the agency’s then-CEO Andrew Holt left the agency by “mutual agreement”.
