Impact reveals new wins

Impact Communications has announced account wins and new staff.

The announcement:

PR agency, IMPACT Communications Australia, has completed Q1 2011 in strong form, securing five new clients and hiring three new staff.

IMPACT’s client portfolio has been expanded to include Helga’s Quinoa & Flaxseed bread, Fountain Variety Sauces and Asian Home Gourmet, brands of parent company Cerebos, as well as ‘Truss Me’ Tomatoes, a program to educate consumers about the premium fruit.

After a highly competitive pitch process, IMPACT also signed laundry brand Biozet, part of the international company, Kao Brands.

Multinational information technology services provider, Unisys re-appointed IMPACT’s business to business division after a regional review of all PR agencies. IMPACT has been working with Unisys for four years.

The agency has increased its team of talented public relations practitioners. Lorraine Turley, formerly of Beyond the Square Communication, joins the FMCG team as an account manager, while Kellie Morrissey has been added as an account executive. Kimberley McMillan joins as an account executive for the B2B team.

IMPACT’s founding directors, Allison Lee and Nicole Webb, predict growth for IMPACT in 2011, as well as for the PR sector overall.

“To date, IMPACT has had a very positive financial year. The business is working above pre-GFC levels,” says Lee.

“If the GFC had a silver lining, it was highlighting the power of public relations. Now, brands and companies are more motivated to include traditional and digital PR as ‘must-haves’, rather than simply relying on TVCs.”

Webb attributed the company’s success to its ability to achieve new business whilst simultaneously nurturing relationships with existing clients.

“The increase in clients and staff is encouraging and invigorating. We have a great creative energy running through the business,” said Webb.

Webb and Lee have set the bar high for staff achievement this year. Webb has been re-elected to the NSW PRIA Council, while Lee has entered PRIA’s prestigious College of Fellows as one of its youngest Fellow.

The successes of IMPACT come off the back of a spate of awards. At the 2010 NSW PRIA State Awards for Excellence, IMPACT was the most awarded agency. Awards included:

• Winner for Excellence in Environment for its ‘Old Phones; New Chickens’ program to encourage mobile phone recycling for Mobile Muster.

• Commended for Excellence in Marketing for its I ♥ Footy campaign that promoted snacking on healthy avocados during NRL games on behalf of Australian Avocados, and Horticulture Australia.

• Commended for Excellence in Issues Management for its campaign for RBS to reignite interest in reverse mortgage lending.

Established in 1999, the agency has 13 local and international awards to its name. IMPACT has clients in health and beauty; food and lifestyle; banking and finance; HR, education and training; IT and technology.

The agency’s philosophy is based on combining strategic research with innovative, creative campaign concepts and a genuine hunger and passion for achieving communication success.
