In celebration (and eradication) of graffiti
YouTube can be a rich source of irony.
Take this video celebrating the work of graffiti artist Banksy.
And the explanatory blurb from the person who posted it, quoting him:
“The people who run our cities don’t understand graffiti because they think nothing has the right to exist unless it makes a profit.
“The people who truly deface our neighbourhoods are the companies that scrawl giant slogans across buildings and buses trying to make us feel inadequate unless we buy their stuff.”
And what should be the contextual ad overlaying the video? An ad for graffiti removal of course.
i think the best part of this video is the use of Jimmy Eat World’s “The Middle.”
