Indie agency Friend appointed to Big Aussie Barbie

In preparation for the Big Aussie Barbie fundraising campaign, independent agency Friend has been appointed by Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

The Big Aussie Barbie, to be held in September is to raise money for prostate cancer sufferers and survivors as well as raise awareness of the disease.

The event works on interested parties registering and hosting BBQs to accept donations to the PCFA.

Friend will develop the campaign across TV, radio and print as well as web, email, direct mail and outdoor.

Tony Rambaut, managing partner at Friend said: “The success of this campaign will depend on the number of barbies we can get people to host and attend, so we’ll need to create deep levels of participant engagement and a strong call to action.”

Lisa Cheng, head of marketing and fundraising for PCFA said: “This is our big fundraiser for the year and we need to continue raising awareness of the prostate cancer issue and get massive levels of participation. With Friend’s help, we are sure this will be our most successful campaign ever.”

The campaign is due to begin mid-May and end in September.
