Industry mourns NRS Media global CEO Marc Verhoeven

NRS Media global CEO Marc Verhoeven passed away on Friday from unforeseen complications experienced during a routine operation, his family has said in a statement.

Verhoeven, 50, did not regain consciousness after undergoing shoulder reconstruction surgery at Sydney’s St Vincent’s Private Hospital last Monday and had been maintained on a life-support system.

He began his career in the New Zealand radio industry with roles including GM of The Breeze in Wellington and area manager for CanWest Radio. In 2002 he was appointed as MD of NRS Media Asia-Pacific and then took on the role as CEO in 2003.

The funeral service will be held at 1.30pm on Friday 26 August at St Mary’s Church – Miller Street, North Sydney. Friends and family welcome.
