ING Australia appoints new chief marketer after Danielle Hamilton exit

ING Australia has promoted Carly Yanco to the chief marketing officer role, following the departure of Danielle Hamilton earlier this year.

Yanco has been with the bank for six years, having joined in 2019 as head of brand. She took on an acting head of marketing role for a year, before becoming chief of staff in 2024.

ING confirmed the promotion with Mumbrella, but did not provide comment. It also confirmed Hamilton’s departure happened “a few months ago”.

Yanco comes from an agency background, having spent four-and-a-half years with J. Walter Thompson Worldwide, servicing brands including Unilever, Johnson & Johnson, Nestlé, and Kellogg’s. Prior to that, she spent nearly nine years with Burson-Marsteller.

Her promotion is understood to be part of broader marketing changes, as the bank looks to strengthen its customer and brand strategy. As part of this strategy, it has also hired Luke Tucker as head of product and customer marketing.

Tucker joins after a year-and-a-half of business consultation for Salesforce, where he worked across sales, CX, data, and digital. He is also Citi’s former CMO of Singapore, and regional head of marketing and brand for APAC and EMEA.

Tucker also previously held roles in agencyland, including at Ogilvy in Chicago and DDB Group Australia.
