Innocean has appointed Sidharth Loyal as its new head of strategic planning for Australia, Mumbrella can reveal.

Loyal has worked across a variety of agencies in the Asia-Pacific region, having most recently worked as a regional business director for Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore. Prior to this he worked for DDB Singapore, and Weiden & Kennedy Delhi. He has also worked for Publicis and Grey Worldwide.

He also ran his own marketing consultancy firm Trium and founded the Account Planning Group in India in 2011.

Loyal said: “I am very excited about moving to Sydney and coming on board a real challenger agency which also happens to be one of the top five ranked agencies within Australia.

“As Head of Planning, my mandate is to help grow IW’s presence within the market and work closely with Mike, Scott and the entire management team to help raise the agency’s equity and make it a magnet to attract great talent.”

Loyal has worked on brands including J&J, Hyundai, Chevrolet, Phillips, IndiGo Airlines, Royal Enfield Motorcycles, Cairn Energy and Mondelez.

Innocean MD Mike Morrison said: “You must be patient, it’s easy to hire in haste and repent afterwards. We are a small but potent agency, waiting for key talent is critical.”

The agency launched in Auastralia in 2009, is best known as the agency for Hyundai and Kia. It also counts Makeitcheaper.com.au as a client.
