Interbrand hires Katie Rockliff as executive director
Interbrand has hired Katie Rockliff, a partner at design agency Eskimo, as executive director as the brand agency looks to boost its retail credentials. She starts on July 11.
Rockliff’s career to date includes stints at M&C Saatchi, where she was group account director, brand design and environment, and The One Centre, where she was group account director.
She has worked on clients including Apple, Carhartt, Harrods, Freedom, Coca Cola, Unilever, WWF Australia and Jetstar.
Richard Curtis, GM of Interbrand Sydney, said: “Katie is someone with a great combination of skills and experience, and I’m looking forward to her playing a leadership role in shaping our unique combination of strategy and design, visual and verbal identity, corporate and retail branding.”
Interbrand has hired 20 people since the beginning of the year, and is now up to 32 full time staff.
“As a result of our efforts across design, verbal identity, strategy and client services over the past 2 years, we now have the deepest pool of talent in the industry. It’s reassuring to know that we are consistently able to attract the best and brightest people, and we’re still on the lookout for more,” added Curtis.
The agency’s client list includes the Griffin Theatre Company, George Weston Foods and Ronald McDonald House Charities, which is undergoing a brand revamp.
Interbrand is moving into new offices in the next few weeks, but will stay in the DDB group building.
Nice to see them poaching from someone that isn’t Landor for a change. Though I’m sure that will resume shortly.

20 new staff in 6 months!? All that ‘verbal identity’ work for Griffin Theatre and those charity clients must be paying bloody well…

Erm, Great to see they’re doing so well…especially in ‘Verbal Identity’. If that’s the case though, someone might want to tell them to spell their clients’ names the correct way. That would be a good start. While I’m sure George WESTERN Foods are delighted with their ‘Verbal Identity’ work, George Weston Foods might not be so happy. (Cue sounds of minions scrabbling to fix up the typo…)
