IAA ‘BIG IDEA’ 2017 JURY ANNOUNCED

150 UNIVERSITY STUDENTS AUSTRALIA-WIDE ENTER THE CHALLENGE

The International Advertising Association (IAA) today announced the judging panel for the IAA ‘Big Idea’ 2017 challenge, Australia’s only national marketing communications challenge specially created for student teams from Australian universities and tertiary institutions with courses in advertising, marketing, media and communications

Well over 150 university undergraduate students from NSW, VIC, ACT, QLD and WA are working on their team submissions to be judged in this national competition.

The IAA is thrilled by this response from universities all around Australia and truly encouraged by the passion and commitment the students devote to this professional development program, supported by national sponsor, Adobe, and media partner Mumbrella, as it is a win-win opportunity for all parties involved.

Chair of the Jury is Aimee Buchanan, OMD CEO, with a judging panel of Chandra Sinnathamby, Adobe, Head of Document Cloud APAC, Stewart Heys, News Limited Head of Ad Products,  Gayle While, Head of CRM/CX, Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, and Paul Wallbank, Mumbrella News Editor.

IAA ‘Big Idea’ now in its 15th year, gives students the opportunity to hone their communication skills and talents in a real world, career-ready learning experience that is critical training in the preparation of graduates for the transition from university into professional practice.

Students have been invited to devise a marketing plan and communications campaign for Adobe Document Cloud.

The students work in agency-style teams to develop a fully integrated communications solution – from the research stage to the creative concept and  final presentation of their ‘Big Idea’ in response to the client brief. The winning ‘Big Idea’, as well as all the ideas submitted by the students, are made available to be implemented by the client.

The four highest scoring teams are announced as finalists on 20 October and they face the jury, to pitch their campaigns presentations on 10 November, when the overall winning team will be selected by the jury and announced as IAA ‘Big Idea’ 2017 National Champions.
