Intrepid Travel aims to create ‘movement’ with launch of social media campaign

Screen Shot 2015-09-17 at 1.56.20 PMTour operator Intrepid Travel has launched a social media campaign in a move to inspire people to travel.

The Melbourne-based firm has created a microsite, live.intrepidtravel.com, and invited people to articulate what travel means to them using the hashtag #LiveIntrepid

Intrepid said it is attempting to create a “movement” where “travellers the world over can reflect and share on the meaning of travel”.

The campaign, created and run by Undertow Media, includes paid social media across Facebook and, for the first time, Instagram.

“We are aiming to create a groundswell of travel love with #LiveIntrepid,” Intrepid manager director James Thornton said.

“Travel is the ultimate equaliser and based on feedback from our leaders and travellers, we know that Intrepid travellers are reflective and passionate – eager to share their experiences and love for travel with the world.”

The website allows users to create a “travel mantra” and upload a photo which can be shared through social channels.
