IPG Mediabrands’ general manager of investment Michael Bass announces departure

Michael Bass, IPG Mediabrands’ general manager of investment, will leave the company on 24 April to “discover what else is out there”, he announced in an email today.

Bass joined Initiative in 2011 as trading director, before moving to parent company IPG Mediabrands in 2014 as national trading and negotiations director. He took up his current role in October 2015.

Bass: Will see everyone again “very soon”

Change, however, is inevitable, he said.

“With all of the considerable and rapid changes across the media industry, it’s time to discover what else is out there, what else I can be inspired by and what else I can learn. I now have the opportunity to do just that,” the email said.

He said the almost seven years with IPG Mediabrands had flown by and he had enjoyed the friendship and support of the wider team.

“It has been an absolute delight to work with such amazing media partners, clients and colleagues,” the email continued. “We have achieved a great deal together and I hope we can continue to build on that well into the future.”

He said he would see everyone again “very soon”.

IPG Mediabrands has been contacted for comment about its replacement plans for Bass.
