Digital creative agency Isobar has promoted Erik Hallander to the newly created role of managing director.

Hallander has been with the agency for over nine years, most recently as the regional mobile and innovation director.

Joining in 2008, Hallander has held positions as a developer, interactive director and director of mobile and innovation.

Both internal and external candidates were included in the recruitment process, however, Isobar Group’s CEO Konrad Spilva, said in a press release Hallander had a “no-bullshit approach” which has positioned him as a good leader.

“In appointing this role, it was incredibly important to find a someone who could hero our technical strengths as well as have the commercial acumen to deliver radically meaningful outcomes for our clients.

“He refuses to accept the status quo, champions diversity of thinking and we are proud to have been able to promote from within,” Spilva said.

The appointment will allow Spilvia to focus on the wider Isobar Group – which includes Soap and With Collective – while Hallander focuses on Isobar.

Hallander said there is an undeniable amount of potential and incredible work at the agency.

“With a heritage of getting our hands dirty and actually delivering whatever we imagine, the potential for incredible work and the no-bullshit mindset of the people here is undeniable.

“I’m super excited to help foster this brilliance in the team over the coming years.”

Earlier in the year Isobar appointed Chirryl-Lee Ryan as its head of experience design.
