Ivan Milat telemovie and Ten’s new political drama revealed

A telemovie focussing on serial killer Ivan Milat and a political drama series have been announced along with funding for existing feature films and other television projects.

The 12 projects, which includes three feature films and three children’s TV programs, have been given a share in $15.5 million by the Australian Government.

One of the projects, Catching Milat, will be produced by Shine Australia and directed by Peter Andrikidis. The two-part series will be created for the Seven Network with Kerrie Mainwaring acting as producer, and will be written by Justin Monjo.

Asher Keddie And Rodger Corser are attached to Party Tricks, produced by Southern Star Entertainment Pty Ltd for Channel Ten. The six-part drama focuses on a female politician whose ex-lover runs against her during an election campaign.

The funding was distributed by Screen Australia as part of the 2013/14 investment cycle.
