IVE Group to acquire Salmat’s Australian catalogue business Salmat Marketing Solutions
IVE Group Limited has entered into an agreement to acquire Salmat Limited’s Australian catalogue distribution business, Salmat Marketing Solutions, for the consideration of $25 million.
The agreement also includes the acquisition of Salmat’s New Zealand catalogue distribution business, Reach Media NZ Limited.
Marketing Solutions and Reach Media will continue to operate as standalone businesses whilst adding to IVE’s production and distribution offering.
The agreement is should completed by January 2020, but is still subject to market conditions.
In addition to the acquisition, IVE will be running a capital investment program for $25 to 30 million in order introduce technology and sustainability to the catalogue collation process.
Marketing Solutions’ walker network consists of 12,000 people.
IVE CEO Matt Aitken said the acquisitions will complete the company’s goal to expand its print marketing and distribution offering.
“These acquisitions complete the final phase of our strategic roadmap over recent years to further expand and strengthen our offer to the retail sector. The combination of Australia’s largest letterbox distribution business with IVE’s broader print, data analytics and marketing services offer provides an exciting opportunity for our clients to enhance returns on their marketing spend through our highly integrated offer,” Aitken said.
“Importantly, the significant capital expenditure program over the next 18 months to automate catalogue collation will support the ongoing sustainability of the national walker network resulting in a strong distribution channel delivering improved ROI for IVE’s retail clients.”
For the 2018-19 financial year, IVE announced it was planning on dropping its four brand names – Kalido, Blue Star, Pareto and IVEO – to trade under IVE.
In June, IVE Group launched its e-commerce platform, Nexus, which transforms traditionally printed catalogues and brochures into interactive digital platforms.
Earlier this month, Sean Smith was named IVE Group’s CEO of data-driven communications, two weeks after he announced his departure from Isentia.
