Jacko special helps Seven to ratings win

Craftsmanship showed last night, with Seven’s decision to screen a newly made ITV documentary about Michael Jackson faring better than Nine’s hastily put together effort over the weekend.

The show rated an audience of 1.3m, according to preliminary data from OzTam, and helped the network to a victory for the evening with a 27.2% metro share. Nine and Ten both had 25.3%

Meanwhile, Nine’s This Afternoon had a lacklustre debut, coming behind the shows on Seven and Ten but about 50,000 viewers up on the news programme in the slot last week.

Monday’s top rating shows:

  1. Seven News – Seven 1.8m
