James Murdoch and Martin Sorrell to appear at Cannes Lions

James Murdoch is to appear at this year’s Cannes Lions in a conversation with WPP boss Sir Martin Sorrell.

Among the topics flagged are digital TV and the future of journalism.

Lions chairman Terry Savage said: “We are delighted to have secured two such passionate champions of innovation for this year’s Festival. James Murdoch and Sir Martin Sorrell have both, in their own ways, dared to challenge convention, reshaping the industry and developing businesses that are large employers of creative talent.”

James Murdoch is chairman and CEO Europe and Asia of News Corporation. He is also chairman of the UK pay TV operator BSkyB.
