WPP digital media consultancy, The Media Innovation Group, has launched in Asia Pacific with James Welch at the helm.
As Mumbrella revealed last month, Welch left the Australian office of Innocean for the then unnamed Singapore based role.
Welch will be tasked with building partnerships with agencies and their clients across Asia Pacific.
MIG specialises in using data on audience behaviour to optimise how media is spent acorss all digital channels.
Welch has previously worked for WPP agencies including Y&R, JWT and Mindshare’s consultancy, the Advanced Techniques Group. He has also worked in Hong Kong and London.
Welch’s remit will include Australia. He told Mumbrella: “We are already active in the Australian marketplace buying audiences for pan-regional clients. And after six fabulous years in Sydney, I’m certainly going to tap into my network.
“Now is the time to make our presence known formally and extend our services to a wider net of regional businesses. Now is also the time to bring digital media buying and data insights closer to the creative process.”
