Jamie Gilbert-Smith named business partnerships director at Hogarth

Four months after departing M&C Saatchi Sport, Jamie Gilbert-Smith has landed his next role as the national business partnerships director at WPP’s Hogarth Australia.

Gilbert-Smith brings over 20 years of integrated marketing experience to the role, where he will now lead partnership relations and growth across a roster of clients at WPP AUNZ’s innovation-based content agency.

CEO Justin Rickets said the appointment is key in a time of growth for Hogarth Australia. “Jamie is a strategic thinker who brings extensive integrated marketing experience to the role.

“He has a particular focus on authenticity and creating genuine client partnerships.”

He described Gilbert-Smith as “a trusted adviser”.

“I am delighted to have someone with Jamie’s breadth and depth of experience to join the Hogarth team as we continue to expand and enhance our offering to clients.”

Prior to his time as M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment managing director, Gilbert-Smith spent time at several agencies including Ensemble, Ogilvy and Lowe.

His career has been split between the UK and Australia, and he has also worked as a strategic adviser to CMO’s and heads of brand.

He has worked with clients including  Bunnings, Coca-Cola, Commonwealth Bank, IAG, KFC, MasterCard, Optus, Pepsi,  Woolworths, Unilever, Lion Co., Telstra and The Federal Government.

Gilbert-Smith, who will report into the CEO, said he is “thrilled” to join Hogarth.

Glibert-Smith will also focus on client health, tech and content innovation, organic growth and new business.

His departure from M&C Saatchi came as part of a restructure, with Sport & Entertainment global CEO, Steve Martin, saying “something had to give” amid the added pressures of COVID.
