Jayne Andrews appointed marketing director of Carnival Cruise Lines

Screen Shot 2013-12-05 at 10.52.47 AMCruise line company Carnival Australia has confirmed the appointment of former Fairfax marketer Jayne Andrews as marketing director for one of its main brands, Carnival Cruise Lines.

Andrews was previously the marketing director of Fairfax’s dating website RSVP and prior to that worked with Telstra helping establish the telco’s loyalty program.

“It’s great to join Carnival and the cruise industry at such an exciting time,” Andrews told Mumbrella.

She has previously also worked at Social Soup, BMF and Mercer Bell, in roles in both Sydney and London.

In October it was revealed Carnival Cruises had dropped Saatchi&Saatchi as its creative agency for Host Sydney.

Andrews began in the role last month and said her first big challenge would be launching the brand’s second ship based in Australia, the Carnival Legend.

“It’s an exciting period as we countdown to the launching our second ship to Australia, Carnival Legend, later this year,” she said.

Carnival Cruises is one of a number brands for Carnival Australia which also owns P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises and Seabourne.

According to Nielsen in 2011 Carnival Cruise Lines had a main media spend of $3.5m, however this is likely to have grown as the brand expanded its Australian operations since then.
