JC Decaux appoints new director of communications
Out-of-home (OOH) company JC Decaux has appointed Katie Morgan in the newly created role of director of communications, joining the senior leadership group.
In her new role, Morgan will be responsible for leading the company’s public relations strategy and internal engagement, as well as its corporate social responsibility program.
Morgan joins from the NSW Department of Customer Service, where she had held the role of manager, governance – communications and engagement since June 2020. During her time there, she was part of the incident response team to the 2020 Service NSW cyber-attack.
She has also held roles at the BBC in London and, closer to home, she spent time at SBS and the NSW Department of Customer Service.
On the appointment, JC Decaux executive general manager – government relations and corporate affairs Tess Phillips said: “Katie has extensive experience in communications in both the public sector and media industry so will bring a wealth of experience to the role. Katie will act as a strategic communications advisor to the business across Australia and New Zealand as it continues to evolve and innovate.”
Morgan commented: “I love working with inspiring and passionate people, that’s what drew me to JC Decaux. I’m honoured to be given the opportunity to support the continued success and growth of one of the world’s most esteemed media brands.”
The appointment is effective immediately. It follows several other staff moves made by JC Decaux, including Bronwyn Clementson as general manager-commercial in July and Oliver Newtson as chief sales officer in April. The OOH company also added a programmatic digital offering in March this year.
