Joe Hawkins departs 303 MullenLowe Perth for Marketforce
303 MullenLowe Perth’s award-winning creative Joe Hawkins has been appointed to a new role at Marketforce.
Hawkins worked with 303 MullenLowe as head of copy for two years collecting multiple awards including three Silvers at the London International Awards for his Ikea radio work.
The creative, who began his career at Marketforce more than 15 years ago as an intern under creative directors Pat Lennox and Ben Green, will take on the new role of group creative head.
“It’s funny how these things work out. I’ve admired Pat and Ben’s work for bloody ages, and we’ve kept in touch over the years. Needless to say when the casual chats started turning a little more casual job interview, I was pretty excited,” Hawkins said.
Lennox said he was thrilled to have Hawkins return to the agency.
“His combination of local, national and international experience is rare in this market, and it’s something we believe is of great benefit to our clients. We all can’t wait to get started.”
Despite 303 MullenLowe’s loss of Hawkins, the agency is continuing to expand its creative talent, appointing Dean Hunt to creative lead and Jess Witt to art director, both starting this month.
Nick Cleaver, CEO of 303 MullenLowe said the agency was pleased to welcome Hunt and Witt to the office, as part of plans to invest more in creative talent across Sydney and Perth.
Hunt has worked in the industry for almost 30 years, working with clients including the Football Federation Australia and Schweppes Solo.
Witt comes from BBDO’s Berlin office, where she worked for four years on brands including Smart car and Becks.
Richard Berney, executive creative director of 303 MullenLowe in Perth said the duo will bring “firepower,” “worldliness” and “enthusiasm” to the office.
“Our market research revealed that a vast majority of Australians would prefer a pay-per-view model over a monthly subscription”
