john singleton takes a swing at Jack Cowin telegraph front pageNew South Wales police have handed John Singleton a fine of $550 and issued the 73-year-old with an infringement notice after he brandished a broken wine glass towards Jack Cowin on Monday.

The Macquarie Radio Network boss lashed out at the Fairfax Media and Network Ten director during a row at a Sydney restaurant.

New South Wales police refused to formally name Singleton but said it will issue a Criminal Infringement Notice following an incident in a Woolloomooloo restaurant earlier this week.

“Officers from Kings Cross Local Area Command have been investigating the incident which occurred on Monday 11 May at a restaurant in Woolloomooloo,” the statement said.

“Police will serve a 73-year-old man with a Criminal Infringement Notice for offensive behaviour.

“The penalty notice carries a fine of $550 if it goes uncontested by the recipient.

“Police continue to investigate possible licensing breaches surrounding the incident.”
