John Singleton fined $550 after brandishing broken glass in restaurant row with Jack Cowin
New South Wales police have handed John Singleton a fine of $550 and issued the 73-year-old with an infringement notice after he brandished a broken wine glass towards Jack Cowin on Monday.
The Macquarie Radio Network boss lashed out at the Fairfax Media and Network Ten director during a row at a Sydney restaurant.
New South Wales police refused to formally name Singleton but said it will issue a Criminal Infringement Notice following an incident in a Woolloomooloo restaurant earlier this week.
“Officers from Kings Cross Local Area Command have been investigating the incident which occurred on Monday 11 May at a restaurant in Woolloomooloo,” the statement said.
“Police will serve a 73-year-old man with a Criminal Infringement Notice for offensive behaviour.
“The penalty notice carries a fine of $550 if it goes uncontested by the recipient.
“Police continue to investigate possible licensing breaches surrounding the incident.”
Oh, the outrage! Seriously, the coppers have better things to do than chase up two geriatric dinosaurs having a bit of biffo on the sauce. Does this mean they are going to retrospectively investigate (and fine) James Packer and the Gyng over their Bondi biffo last year which also made the front page of the Tele ?
