Jonathan Brown stars in Toyota’s new campaign for its Good for Footy raffle

AFL legend Jonathan Brown is the face of Toyota’s new ‘Time to Raise’ campaign, which builds upon the brand’s previous Good for Footy raffle.

The launch video, created by specialist sport and entertainment agency Gemba, shows Brown introducing this year’s raffle to an animated local footy team.

Since 2015 Toyota has partnered with the AFL in a campaign to help raise money for community football clubs around Australia. The Good for Footy raffle has raised over $2.2 million since it began, with 100% of the proceeds from each ticket directed to local football clubs.

Toyota has contributed a range of prizes for the raffle winners, including three brand new cars.

This year’s raffle will be available online, making it easier for clubs to register and sell tickets.

Gemba ECD Boyd Hicklin said that the digital raffle will make it easier to raise community initiative to campaign for more money for the clubs.

“We know how busy and time poor volunteers from local clubs are. Taking the raffle digital means it’s even easier for these clubs to get involved, easier to sell tickets and for the first time, community minded Aussies everywhere can get behind a great local cause. You don’t have to stand in the rain at your local park to buy a ticket from a footy club member… you can now click through straight from your social feed and it’s done,” Hicklin said.

Jonathan Brown stated: “Whether its new footballs, facilities, drink bottles or oranges at half time, the Good For Footy raffle continues to raise much needed funds for clubs who really need it. So what are you waiting for? Get amongst it.”

The campaign will run across broadcast, digital, print, OOH, social media and in stadiums nation wide.

Earlier this year Toyota extended its sponsorship contract with the AFL until 2023.
