Jonathan Hopkins promoted to MD of media agency Razor

jonathan hopkins razorSydney based media agency Razor has appointed planning director J0nathan Hopkins as its new managing director.

Before joining Razor in 2006, Hopkins spent eight years with media agency Universal McCann in various roles working with brands including XBox, Unilever and Coca Cola.

More recently he has been leading Razor’s relationship with Nike.

Hopkins said: “We are acutely aware that we have to offer our clients something different or we’ll die. It is a sad reality of today’s media world that there is always someone bigger and cheaper. We’ve always strived to offer something dimensionally better.”

Founder and agency principal Simon Rush added: “Jonathan is a huge asset to the business and I have no doubt he will lead the agency to continued success. Razor have shown year in, year out that communications with vision and innovative creative solutions can yield step-change business & brand results. He is one of those rare communications professionals who ‘gets it’. He understands that leading and driving client business is the reason we exist.”

Hopkins is one of the jurors for the Battle of the Media contest at the Mumbrella360 conference, which takes place in Sydney in a fortnight’s time.
