Jonesy and Amanda become action figures in WSFM campaign by Emotive

WSFM’s latest advertising campaign brings breakfast presenters Brendan ‘Jonesy’ Jones and Amanda Keller to life as action figures in new work from creative agency Emotive.

The campaign is WSFM’s first since Emotive took on ARN’s creative account last year, and launches with three 15-second TVCs airing first on Sunday, 8 August.

The three TVCs feature some classic banter between the hosts as Jonesy and Amanda come to terms with being cheeky, lifelike action figures.

The campaign will roll out across TV as well as BVOD, transit, social and digital, and comes off the back of ARN’s recently launched Defining Audio brand evolution, during which the company ditched the name ‘Australian Radio Network’ to become known simply as ‘ARN’.

Keller said: “Ever since I was a little girl, I have dreamed of being a dolly. But not one of the ones that wees or cries like Teary Deary more like a Barbie – who can be an astronaut one day and a flight attendant the next.”

Jones added: “At last, I’m a collectable action figure! …. I don’t know if I’ve got kung fu grip though!”

ARN chief connections officer Lauren Joyce said Jonesy and Amanda played a key part in the development of the campaign.

“This is Jonesy & Amanda like you’ve never seen them before. This new campaign really represents where WSFM is now, it’s all about fun, vitality and living your best life – which Jonesy & Amanda do every morning on their breakfast show,” she said.

“They were an integral part of developing this new campaign and you can see their familiar humour, wit and smarts all over it.”

Emotive creative director, Rupert Taylor, added: “We got really lucky with Jonesy and Amanda – they’re really bold and were super into the idea.

“The people at Yippee Ki-yay did an amazing job on the action figures and Division smashed the production in a tough environment.”
