Jungleboys get big US break for A Moody Christmas
The team behind Sydney-based production company Jungleboys has signed a breakthrough Hollywood deal for their TV show A Moody Christmas.
The show is to be produced by CBS Studios and will air on Fox, with the creator of Entourage Doug Ellin as show runner along with Jungleboys’ Trent O’Donnell and Phil Lloyd.
A Moody Christmas was a hit comedy drama for the ABC last year. It featured the Moody family’s Christmas day on six consecutive years. The follow up series for the SBC begins shooting next week in Sydney.
The remake will see Lloyd, O’Donnell and Jungleboys co-owner Jason Burrows as executive producers. O’Donnell will also direct.
O’Donnell and Lloyd also created Review With Miles Barlow, which Lloyd also starred in. Lloyd hosted Mumbrella’s Branded Entertainment Awards last year.
O’Donnell and Lloyd will develop and write the pilot for the US version of A Moody Christmas.
Jungleboys was started by Jason Burrows in 2003 and O’Donnell is also now a co-owner. The company is best known for its work in producing TV ads, but in recent years has been pushing into long form and TV content.
Amazing! Loved Moody Christmas last year and Review with Myles Barlow has been a favourite for a while!
