Justice League leads Australia’s box office for second week

Warner Brothers’ Justice League continued to top the Australian box office this weekend, taking $3.348m across 518 screens on its second week of release

The film – which sees Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash team up to fight the bad guys – has been considered something of a flop in the US, after it ranked the lowest performer of all the DC Extended Universe films.

Daddy’s Home 2 was the second-highest grossing film over the weekend, after it made $2.316m across 304 screens. A 17% rating on Rotten Tomatoes did little to deter audiences purchasing a ticket for the film, which stars John Cena and Mel Gibson.

Johnny Depp’s Murder On The Orient Express fell from second to third place, taking $1.646m across a total of 341 screens.

Disney’s Thor: Ragnarok took $1.199m across 302 screens, bringing its total Australian takings to an impressive, $31.405m making it the total highest-grossing film on the list.
