JWT book and Leo Burnett’s new biz iPad gifts win at Design Lions
JWT Melbourne has joined the small band of Australian agencies to win a Gold Lion at Cannes this year.
The agency picked up the award for its Stories From The Street interactive book project on behalf of the Melbourne Writers Festival.
There was also a silver for Leo Burnett Sydney for it’s Apple Box new business drive. Building on the tale of Leo Burnett putting a bowl of apples in the agency’s reception during the 1930s depression, the agency created an apple carton that included the gift of an Apple iPad.
According to the agency’s award entry: “We received overwhelmingly positive feedback from each CEO who received the AppleBox with personal calls made to our head of new business. Not only did they express their gratitude for sending them such a beautiful and unique piece, but our Leo i-Pad inside was extremely well received and enabled us to begin an open dialogue with the recipients about working with us in the future.”
JWT Melbourne also picked up a bronze lion for its anti-whaling work for the International Fund for Animal Welfare.
Landor’s “Yummy tummy koalas” work for George Weston Foods was the fourth Australian Design Lions winner.
