JWT Melbourne wins Quit Victoria and Cancer Council

JWT Melbourne has picked up the creative accounts of Quit Victoria and Cancer Council after a competitive pitch.

After a competitive pitch, JWT Melbourne has been appointed to lead the Quit Victoria and Cancer Council Victoria accounts.

This is the first time both Quit and Cancer Council Victoria have consolidated their cancer prevention campaign work with one partner agency.

JWT will develop integrated communications solutions, from communications strategy, to creative development and execution across all channels.

Quit Victoria is one of the highest profile social marketers in Australia, while the Cancer Council runs a number of campaigns including the highly visible SunSmart, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea and Daffodil Day, as well as programs targeting Cervical Cancer screening, Bowel Cancer Screening, Obesity and Alcohol policy.

JWT Managing Director Michael Godwin said: “There are very few of us whose lives have not been touched by cancer in some way and we’re thrilled to be in a position to make a meaningful contribution to the fight against this insidious disease by working alongside Quit Victoria and Cancer Council Victoria.”

Cancer Council Victoria CEO Todd Harper said: “We are looking forward to forging a long and enduring relationship with JWT to increase awareness of our work and enhance our efforts to reduce the impact of cancer on all Victorians.”

Quit Victoria Executive Director Fiona Sharkie said: “We are excited to partner with JWT and we are confident the first campaign, which is currently in development, will have a tremendous impact in motivating Victorians to quit smoking.”

The appointments build on JWT Melbourne’s formidable credentials in social marketing. In the 2011 the agency developed and implemented the Federal Government’s anti-obesity “Swap It. Don’t Stop It” campaign. JWT Melbourne has also been responsible for five successive campaigns combating Problem Gambling for the Victorian Government.
