Kathmandu partners with musician G Flip for campaign

Kathmandu has partnered with musician G Flip for a campaign, with a TVC to be launched in October. The social and digital campaigns are currently live.

The announcement:

Outdoor brand Kathmandu have partnered with Australian musician G Flip to launch their Summer campaign as part of an overall brand positioning of ‘We’re out there’. The campaign will roll out across national television networks, digital, social media, PR and Kathmandu’s 163 stores across Australia and New Zealand.

Supporting a purpose to improve the wellbeing of the world through the outdoors, Kathmandu knows getting out there in nature makes us feel good and listening to music does wonders for our mind too. The natural alignment with G Flip and their artistry and passion for music, mental health and the outdoors is timely with a planned easing of Covid restrictions and a desire to get back out there for Summer.

This is not the first time G Flip has worked with Kathmandu. Earlier this year, to kick off the brand’s partnership with Beyond Blue, G Flip performed exclusively at the Kathmandu Urban Zipline event held in Sydney. This campaign will see G Flip as the face for the Kathmandu Summer campaign which features the new SUN-stopper range.

Speaking on involvement in the campaign, G Flip said they were proud to partner with a brand that supports wellbeing. Mental health is important to G Flip and with the impacts of Covid on touring and performances they have experienced anxiety. “To help me get through this time, I started working out, going for long walks and being as creative as I can.”

“Mental health is so important, especially right now. I partnered with Kathmandu to help them spread this message and help support their important work in this space such as directly supporting Beyond Blue. We have all experienced lockdown in the last year and we can’t wait to get out there and experience as much of life as we can,” they said.

The Technology

The campaign features G Flip in the new SUN-stopper range which has protective benefits and offers excellent UPF 50+ sun protection from exposure to ultraviolet rays and is 100% chemical free and made of an innovative lightweight and wicking fabric. It’ll naturally keep you cool, dry and happy all summer long.

A UPF rating indicates how well Sun Protective Clothing protects against the harmful effects of the sun. The UPF rating indicates how effectively the fabric blocks solar ultraviolet radiation (UVR). The higher the UPF rating, the more solar UVR is blocked by the fabric and the less exposure to solar UVR you will receive.

The Product

A polygiene finish helps keep your top fresh which means you can wear more and wash less which means it’s better for the environment. Wicking fabric pulls moisture away from your skin and moves it to the surface to keep you dry, cool and comfortable. The main fabric is made with 100% recycled polyester and was produced using sustainable chemistry with minimal impact on people and the environment.

The range is available instore and online now.
