Kellogg’s assigns consolidated PR duties to Liquid Ideas

Kellogg’s has consolidated its Australian and New Zealand public relations business to Liquid Ideas after an seven-agency contest that included Keep Left PR, which won a place on the shortlist via a Twitter pitch last month.

Liquid Ideas will start work on the business from today. Dec Communications, which has been handling some projects for the cereal giant, will continue work until the end of the year.

Gareth Lucy, Kellogg’s corporate communications and PR manager, said: “It sounds clichéd, but it really was a difficult decision. Each agency presented superbly. Liquid Ideas was able to demonstrate fantastic media relations, creativity and above all they inspired us with confidence that they would deliver results.”

He added that Keep Left PR performed well in the pitch, and is “an agency to look out for.”

Liquid Ideas takes on a brief to engage the media and improve Kellogg’s reputation for the nutritional value of its products. Lucy noted: “Kellogg’s has taken hammering on the salt and sugar content of our products. But we’ve got a good story to tell, and we want to be part of the conversation.”

Liquid Ideas boss Stuart Gregor discussed the Kellogg’s pitch on last week’s Mumbrellacast:
