KFC releases new ‘Shut Up and Take My Money’ ad with grandmas on mobility scooters
KFC has released new spots as part of its ‘Shut up and Take My Money’ campaign, featuring grandmas riding around on mobility scooters to promote $5 Hot Rod Lunches.
Created by Ogilvy Sydney the campaign sees the grandmas ride around on their mobility scooters to rap music while they eat their Hot Rod Lunch.
The three grandmas then proceed to break out into dance on their scooters as tradies watch on.
Much like other iterations of the campaign, the only dialogue in the ad is one of the grandmas saying “Shut up and take my money”.
The latest release also includes a 15-second commercial which shows a little girl eating her round lollipop as the grandma sits next to her showing off her Hod Rod Lunch.
Ogilvy Sydney should probably credit Patric M. Verrone for coming up with this one. He wrote the Futurama episode that created the meme “Shut up and take my money”.

Hi there Abigail
I am one of the three grannies in this ad. I’m just wondering why the videos are unavailable. Do you know?
Thanks 🙂

Hi Jay,
It would appear the ads have been removed from KFC Australia’s YouTube page, which is where I sourced the ads from. I will have a hunt for the ad on a different YouTube channel.
Thanks – Abigail
