Kicker Communications makes several senior appointments

Comms consultancy Kicker Communications has strengthened its leadership team with a handful of senior appointments and promotions, Mumbrella can reveal.

Laura Blue joins the consultancy as business director, bringing over 15 years of experience in PR and corporate comms to the role. She has worked across the fintech, HR tech, and B2B SaaS sectors across Sydney and Melbourne.

In her first role post-parental leave, Blue will work closely with Kicker Communications’ co-founders, Fran Foo and Ashford Pritchard, focusing on leading business development and the company’s growth initiatives across the Australian and New Zealand market.

“We are delighted to appoint Laura to the newly created role of business director as we look to our next stage of growth,” said Foo.

“Laura has distinguished herself as one of Australia’s top startup and tech communicators and has worked with some of the country’s most exciting emerging brands.”

Blue said of her appointment: “I am incredibly excited to join the Kicker team, where I can combine business development with my passion for client servicing.

“The experienced team, impressive client base, and growth plans made this an easy decision. I’m looking forward to working alongside Fran and Ashford to see where we can take the brand in the coming years.”

Meanwhile, Beroze Dubash and Rochelle Cervantes have both been promoted to associate director, and Agnes Wan to senior consultant.

Dubash has been with Kicker Communications for four-and-a-half years, but has spent over a decade in PR and comms. She has strengths in the FMCG, NFP, and legal comms sectors, having led corporate campaigns and issues management for clients including Nestlé, Metcash, and Coates Hire.

Cervantes also has over a decade of experience — including six years with Kicker Communications — across tech, consumer, leisure, and hospitality in Asia Pacific and the Middle East. She has led B2B and B2C campaigns, specialising in media relations, influencer engagement, and event management.

The pair will continue to provide senior counsel to clients including Foxtel Media, KPMG, and more.

“I’m extremely proud to take on this new role and thrilled for the opportunities I’ve had at Kicker. This promotion is a testament to the support of my colleagues, and I’m excited to contribute even more as we continue to grow and innovate,” Dubash said.

Cervantes said it’s an honour to continue her career growth at Kicker Communications, after starting as an intern “many years ago”.

“Kicker has provided me with an environment where I can thrive, and I look forward to playing an even bigger role in future.”

Finally, Wan brings her background across journalism, consumer marketing, influencer marketing, and communications to her new role.

“I too was an intern and the opportunity to learn from seasoned campaigners has been second to none,” Wan said. “I’m grateful for their generosity of knowledge and mentorship.”

Foo said she is confident in Blue, Dubash, and Cervantes to lead the agency, and has confidence in Wan to be a “next-generation” leader.

“The results they continually produce for clients are no small feat, and the promotions couldn’t have gone to a more deserving trio,” she said.
