Kiis FM launches TV campaign starring Hughesy and Kate to deepen push in Melbourne

Kiis FM is launching a television campaign starring its national drive show with Dave Hughes and Kate Langbroek and Melbourne breakfast team of Meshel Laurie and Matt Tilley.

The marketing push comes as the network doubles down to build its audience in Melbourne after it  failed to move the dial significantly in the Victorian capital last year, despite being the top FM station in Sydney.

The ad depicts the breakfast and drive hosts brainstorming celebrity ‘mash-up’ names to help market their programs. Hughesy and Kate decide on ‘Hate’ for their program, while Matt Tilley and Meshel Laurie end up with ‘Shatt’.

ARN chief marketing officer Anthony Xydis said: “It is a great piece of collaboration between Matt, Meshel, Hughesy and Kate, along with our marketing, agency and production teams. We wanted to showcase the chemistry and personality of the teams on KIIS 101.1 along with their connection with audiences and the amazing content they deliver everyday.

“While every team may need a celebrity mash-up name we think these choices might need a little more work.”

The ad was co-written by Matt Tilley and Paul Calleja, the campaign was created by JOY and produced by Airbag.

Kiis’ visual campaign will roll out on TV from Sunday.
