Kim Landers appointed as new host for Afternoon Live

Former ABC North America Correspondent Kim Landers has been appointed as presenter of ABC News 24’s Afternoon Live.

The announcement:

March 3 2011 –

ABC journalist Kim Landers will join ABC News 24 as the new presenter of Afternoon Live.

Kim will replace Ali Moore who is now presenting Lateline on ABC1.

She will start with the team on March 14.

Kim is a distinguished ABC journalist who spent five years as the ABC’s North America Correspondent in Washington covering a wealth of stories in the United States and the region.

Her time in the US covered both the Bush presidency and the election of Barack Obama.

She has also worked in the Canberra press gallery, in the ABC Brisbane newsroom and across television and radio news and current affairs.

Head of Continuous News, Gaven Morris says:

“Her recent efforts covering the Queensland floods and Cyclone Yasi working closely with the ABC News 24 team have ensured she joins us as a familiar face. I am very excited to welcome Kim into the ABC News 24 team. She has a wealth of experience and will be a perfect addition to the news line up.”
