Koala offers Prince Harry a royal discount code in response to ‘IKEA’ shame
Australian furniture brand Koala is jumping onto the Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, book release media tour by launching a new promotion, ROYALTREATMENT15.
To let the Prince know about the code, Koala is running a full-page ad in The Daily Telegraph today (Thursday 12 January) to share the news.
The promotion will be available from 12-15 January and provides customers who use the code when purchasing from the brand with a 15% discount.
The promotion comes in response to Harry’s claim he “felt embarrassed” with “IKEA and second-hand furniture” in his first home with Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.
Rory Costello, Koals chief commercial officer, said: “As Australia’s leaders in uniquely designed mattresses and furniture, we take any claims of furniture embarrassment very seriously. We know all too well the pain of missing the mark on a good home furnishing and we want to do our part in helping Prince Harry and Meghan reset and redecorate, with the comfiest, most luxurious and most sustainable in modern furniture.
If only second hand IKEA furniture were Prince Harry [edited under Mumbrella guidelines] sole source of shame.
I see second hand IKEA furniture as a source of pride – less landfill

I’m late to the party, but this is brilliant! Would love to know if this was internal marketing or partnered with an agency?
