Kodak launches iPhone app for cinematographers
Kodak released its Film Calculator and Glossary application as a free download from the iTunes App Store.
The tool will help cinematographers determine the running time for any lenght of film, and how much film is needed for a specific duration. It also includes a glossary with hundreds of filmmaking terms.
The app provides a text-only interface that is easy to use, and although it follows Kodak’s colour scheme in its design, there is still room for graphic enhancements and perhaps the introduction of illustration in the glossary section.
The company plans to extend its online and social media presence, and will launch further apps as part of its Cinema Tools strategy to engage digitally with practitioners who are still working with film.
