Kym Pfitzner promoted to CEO at Australian Red Cross
Former Dentsu Aegis executive Kym Pfitzner has been appointed CEO of the Australian Red Cross after holding the interim CEO role since September 2020.
The appointment, effective immediately, comes after Pfitzner was seconded for the interim posting from his role on the Board of Australian Red Cross.
Pfitzner is also a non executive chairperson of PR firm Six O’Clock Advisory.
Before holding advisory roles, Pfitzner was the head of mergers and acquisitions at Dentsu Aegis in Singapore and the COO and CEO of the network in China for three years.
Pfitzer is a Chartered Accountant, a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, has a masters degree in leadership, a master degree in Business Administration, a post-graduate diploma in Chartered Accounting, a post-graduate certificate in Executive Leadership, and a degree in Accounting. He currently is undertaking a PhD in Leadership. He also has extensive corporate development experience heading up the acquiring of over 200 businesses.
He was elected as Chair of the Red Cross Audit and Risk Committee in February 2020 and also served as a member of the Finance Committee and the Nominations and Remuneration Committee as well as the Finance & Audit Committee at Lifeblood. He held these positions up until his appointment as interim CEO where he went on a leave of absence and resigned at the CEO appointment.
