Lachlan Murdoch to appear at Mumbrella360

M360Lachlan Murdoch is to appear on stage at this year’s Mumbrella360 conference in a one-on-one conversation with GroupM boss John Steedman.

Last week Murdoch’s radio group Nova Entertainment had one of its best results yet with its new easy listening format smoothfm delivering some of its biggest numbers in Sydney and Melbourne to date. Meanwhile, Nova is now the biggest national radio brand, having overtaken the Today Network.

As well as Nova, Murdoch is also chairman and a shareholder in the Ten television network. He is also on the board of both News Corp and 21st Century Fox.

Murdoch’s appearance is the second year in which Steedman has participated in a session at Mumbrella360 with a high level media player. Last year, Steedman quizzed Nine Entertainment Co CEO David Gyngell.

WPP’s GroupM is Australia’s single biggest buyer of advertising with its agencies including Mediacom, Mindshare, MEC and Maxus spending around $2bn per year.

Mumbrella360, Australia’s largest media and marketing conference, takes place from June 3-5 at the Hilton Hotel in Sydney. Tickets will go on sale next week.
